Jay Ward, the man behind such famous cartoon characters as 'Rocky and Bullwinkle' and 'Captain Crunch', was a man that lived his life to the fullest. He was a husband, father, real estate broker, Army Sergeant, Hollywood Producer, and most of all…a friend! Yes it was quite apparent that Jay wanted nothing more than to see people have a good time, smile and laugh! In his endeavors, whether creating a new pilot for his television studio, or simply dreaming up funny new cartoon heroes, his objective was simply to make people laugh! In fact, Bill Scott (an old friend and co-producer with Jay) said, "If it was funny, we'd do it."
Jay Ward was born in Berkeley, California. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B. A. After graduating, he remained one of the Berkeley's most enthusiastic graduates. So loyal, that he headed the fundraising campaign for "Robert Gordon Sproul Associates" for years to follow. Later, Jay attended the Harvard Business School, where he received his MBA.
