In 1952, after "Crusader Rabbit", Jay Ward and Alex Anderson (his childhood friend) returned to their respective day jobs - Real Estate and Advertising. However, Jay still had a bold desire to remain involved with animated television! In 1959, he partnered with Bill Scott and co-produced "Rocky and his Friends", which aired on ABC. In 1961 the show changed networks. Yes, NBC was its new location. Once there, it was switched to the prime time line-up (Sundays at 7:00 p.m.) and named the "The Bullwinkle Show" (the initial airings were completed in 1964). "The Bullwinkle Show" (with a total of 163 half-hour shows) has been on television ever since. November 19, 1999 marks the 40th Anniversary celebration of the first "on-air" date.

Jay Ward continued on and produced: 26 half-hour episodes of 'Fractured Flickers'; 105 episodes of 'Hoppity Hooper'; 17 episodes of 'George of the Jungle'; 17 episodes of 'Tom Slick'; and 17 episodes of 'Super Chicken'. Additional Jay Ward Productions, Inc. work included the creation of characters gracing the cereal boxes of 'Captain Crunch', 'Quisp' and 'Quake' (popular Quaker Oats cereals). Jay Ward was also involved in the creation of numerous commercials for the same cereals, which aired on television for nearly twenty years. Another element of the Ward Library was the two feature length compilations - "The Crazy World of Laurel and Hardy" and "The Golden Age of Buster Keaton". Today, many other unsold pilots remain "special" to his family.
