Jay Ward was married to Ramona Ward for forty-seven years. He died on October 12, 1989. His wife Ramona and his three children; Ron, Tiffany, and Carey survive him. Today, Jay's only daughter, Tiffany, in the role of Managing Director for Jay Ward Productions, Inc., carries on her father's dreams.
Jay was known as "one of the first great promotional idea men around". He did what he did, for fun…not to turn a profit! He is remembered by many for his numerous zany promotional campaigns. Campaigns such as "The Sunset Boulevard Block Party", "The Coney Island Intergalactic Film Festival", "A Picnic at the Plaza", and "Statehood for Moosylvania". In fact, during the "Statehood for Moosylvania" promotion (at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis), Jay actually tried to "crash the White House gates" in Washington, D.C.
